About Bright New Beginnings

Nicole
Postpartum Nurse & Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant
Hi, I’m Nicole – a registered nurse, postpartum advocate, pediatric sleep consultant specializing in newborn sleep, and the heart and soul behind Bright New Beginnings. For over two decades, I’ve supported women and families during one of the most sacred, and sometimes overwhelming, times of their life: the postpartum and newborn season. But my passion for this work was born not just from my clinical experience, but from my own personal journey. When I became a mother, I realized just how much support is truly needed after birth, not just for the baby, but for yourself.
The sleepless nights, the shifting identity, the healing body, and the emotional rollercoaster. These issues are so common, yet not talked about. Too many women and families are feeling overwhelmed and isolated. My goal is to build a growing library of gentle, supportive resources for new parents, starting with ebooks and expanding into mini-courses, webinars, and more. Everything I create is rooted in my experience as a postpartum nurse and mom, designed to make those early days feel less overwhelming and more supported.
My Experience
When I became a mom for the first time, I had already worked as a postpartum nurse for two years. I thought I knew it all. I felt prepared—I had the baby gear, the plan, the knowledge. I was ready. Well… maybe not completely ready.
I knew what to expect in the hospital. I had seen the postpartum journey up close, but what I didn’t know was what to do once I got home. I told my family I didn’t need help, that we’d be fine on our own. Not long after we walked through the door, I called my mom and asked her to come over, bring dinner, and help me figure it all out.
Looking back now—on my own experiences with my son and daughter, and the thousands of families I’ve supported over the past 20+ years—I realize just how much support is missing in those early days at home. I’ve told myself for a long time that I needed to do more, and now I finally am.
This is my mission: to offer the kind of education, guidance, and support that I know makes a difference. Because it truly takes a village—and I’m here to be a part of yours.
